A little about me.
In the United Kingdom where counsellors and psychotherapists working in the private sector are not state regulated, it’s important to know that you’re in competent and professional hands. I have an honours degree in science (BSc) from Birkbeck, University of London, in Psychodynamic Counselling and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and my qualifications are accredited by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, (BACP). Birkbeck is considered a centre of excellence for training counsellors and psychotherapists & my training, over a course of five years, was rigorous and demanding. It furnished me with the skills required to begin my own psychotherapeutic practice, after also volunteering for nearly two years in a charitable organisation. My training and educational development enabled me to become individually registered with the BACP, and as such, I am bound by their ethical standards of practice, in addition to my own professional and ethical attitude to practice. I also to continue to advance my skills and professional development in this highly specialised field. Added to this, I report to two supervisors, in both modalities of Psychodynamic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapies, in order to reflect on, monitor and have additional guidance on my practice. This is something required of all BACP registrants. I also have fifteen years of experience working in a specialist neuropsychiatry and brain injury hospital ward in a nursing capacity. This has provided me extensive experience of working with, and sensitivity towards, people with a broad range of neuropsychiatric disorders and brain injury related difficulties.
It is my belief that psychotherapy should not only be accessible to those on high incomes and therefore my session fees are very reasonable. I charge £35 per 50-minute session, with the initial consultation free of charge. I also have concessionary rates below even this amount, for those on low income, students and the unemployed. I do, however, employ a 24 hour cancellation fee. This means that if sessions are cancelled within 24 hours, my fee is still payable by the client.
Contact me via telephone on; 07958 214 910, or email to discuss meeting for an initial consultation, based in my private practice in comfortable yet professional surroundings. I am based in South London, in the centre of Lewisham, Blackheath and Hither Green, all easily accessible from London Bridge, Cannon Street or Victoria.
